Brief Answer:
urinalysis test
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Prostate problems usually occur in elderly and could not be suspected wit your mentioned symptoms in your age group. However, I would suggest to rule out any urinary tract infection, which can be done by a simple urinalysis test.

I've ordered a test kit should be here today, my doctor didn't test me for some reason which makes me a little nervous that he doesn't know what he's doing. My symptoms seem worse today or at least when I woke up, the feel to urinate was stronger but I didn't need to go very much. Would you suggest that is more likely uti than anything else, or can prostrate symptoms increase over night?
Bit more history on me, I have IBS and have been taking codeine in small doses now and then. The last time I took it was a week ago now since these symptoms started. Previously I've had some hesitation and once or twice kind of like flutters in my urine flow which I assumed was the codiene they didn't happen when I wasn't taking it. My worried mind is telling me I missed the early signs of something now and it's really impacting me. I have test results from bloods Tuesday but anything you can do to put my mind at ease would really help
