May be Diabetes or Urinary Tract Infection!
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting me at virtual clinic. Your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.
I have completely reviewed your health query, and can well realize all those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will give extend my expertise to solve the problems.
It is due either to diabetes mellitus or may be a sign of acute urinary tract infection.
If I was your treating physician I would have gone for some laboratory work up and then to go for medications accordingly. Tests needed are:
CBC.
HbA1c levels.
Fasting blood sugar levels.
Fasting lipid profile.
Urine complete analysis and Urine culture and sensitivity test.
Urinary infection (if positive on tests) can be treated with antibiotics like Nitrofurantoin. If you are diabetic, it can be managed according to lab report. Management includes lifestyle changes and medications--oral or injectable insulin.
Start taking sugar-free cranberry juice. It is good for UTI. I suggest you to go for a consultation from your primary care physician who will go for the tests advised above and will treat accordingly.
Hope I answered all of your queries. Let me know if you have further clinical concerns or doubts. I will be more than happy to get back to you with my expert opinion. Please don't forget to give Five Star rating to help me assist patients in a better way; and, please don't forget to 'Close This Discussion'.

Overactive Bladder (OAB) has no relation to IBS!
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for a follow up query. I am happy to answer your question.
Overactive bladder is altogether a different moiety and has nothing to do with IBS. No correlation can be made in reality.
Steps to follow:
Consult your primary care Physician as advised in my last answer. If he feels necessary after testing, he may refer you to a Urologist who definitely will go for further probing and Overactive bladder will be ruled out for sure. He will go for Urodynamic studies, Postvoid residual urine volume studies, Cystoscopy and Ultrasound of kidney ureter and bladder.

When i saw my gp last week she dip sticked my urine sample and it was fine..
I have no pain, im not urinating at night.. Just this iritating feeling like i need to urinate..
What do you think it could be?
Seems to be Urinary Tract Infection causing irritation and urgency!
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the follow up query. I appreciate your trust in HCM and my expertise.
It seems to be Urinary Tract Infection. Don't be upset please as this is manageable. If I was your treating Physician I would have prescribed you with Nitrofurantoin if not allergic to Plus Ibuprofen and Cranberry juice.
Take plenty of water and fruits. Diet full of vegetables and salads. Meats and western diets produce Organic Fixed Acids that cause an extra burden on the secretory system of kidneys and overwhelm the system very fast. It will be an extra burden on the urinary system if you take high protein diet. So avoid it, and take proper rest too for better outcome.

These symptoms are a bit different!
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for follow up.
Urinary retention, Back pain and perineal pain, decreased urinary stream, blood in urine. Many patients also remain asymptomatic.
I usually suggest patients to go for a PSA Screening test. It rules out the cause to be cancer or not if this is done on periodical basis.

Yes this is very unlikely, as aforementioned!
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for consulting and your trust in HCM means a lot to me as a Physician.

Yes this is very unlikely that you have prostatic carcinoma with presenting complaints you have right now. I suggest you to follow the treatment options as aforementioned to get better soon.
Take plenty of water and cranberry juice too for faster recovery. Stasis of urine causes more irritation and aggravation of symptoms. Urinate as soon as possible when you get a reflex and need to urinate.
