Question: Do i have early oral cancer or hpv? I have had the anterior and posterior pillar irritated with small blisters over a year. Also Tags under tongue. Do what test

If you had oral sex, then,should test for HPV, siphilis, HIV and other STDs first, If negative, biopsy should be carried out. Take good oral hygiene. Dr.Sejdini

I was a week on azithromycin and took 1 fluconazole. I also have antiseptic mouth was but it has been futile. What treatment options are available.

Brief Answer: Please provide the following details... Detailed Answer: Hi, Can you please - send a picture of the small blisters in your mouth for better evaluation? - specify if you took azithromycin recently (this week) or since 1 year back? - give more details on your blisters: if they do persist all the year, or they run on and off? - do you get flu/cold easily? did you have flu/cold recently? The use of antibiotics (including azythromycin) is associated with candida thrush. Fluconazole is an anti-fungal that can reduce the thrush. Culturing the mouth swab for candida would determine if you have oral thrush. If candida thrush is confirmed, I usually prescribe Miconazole oral gel for symptoms relief. Some of my patients using antiseptic mouth wash have reported the same mouth problems as you. Instead, I advise to : - use 1 tablespoon of olive oil early in the morning, keep the oil inside the mouth for about 5 to 10 minutes and then, spit it out and rinse the mouth well. This is the same as "oil pulling". - after that can apply 1 teaspoon of honey with little baking soda. Looking forward to have the requested data in! Dr.Sejdini

Sure the blisters are kinda hard to see due to resolution. The whole area is always red and has been for for years. I took 1 week azithromycin 500mg once every day about a month ago. Blisters persist all year. No flu, my last cold was a year ago. I used 1 fluconazole and took nystatin after antibiotics, symptoms didnt seem to get better. I've stopped the mouthwash for months at some points to see if it was that, but no success.

Brief Answer: Thank you... Detailed Answer: Hi, I have gone through the pictures you sent. It was hard to see the blisters due to resolution, but in one photo (which was clearer than others) I have noticed the blisters. I have also noticed that your tongue has a "coating" that I believe has been persistent too. The causes might be: - chronic tonsillitis - gastritis/GERD - STDs infection with oral presentation - chronic bad teeth Now, at this point, definitely you should do: - throat and mouth swab culturing for bacteria/candida/virus - run STDs tests as mentioned earlier - do upper endoscopy to rule out stomach issues - get checked by a dentist to rule out bad teeth Depending on the test results, a more specific treatment will be prescribed.
