Suggest Tests To Detect Fertility Problems
Question: My Husband and I have been trying to concieve for 8 months. we are both healthy and he is 31 and Im 28.
My doctors here just say relax not to worry. Well we are wanting to get tested to make sure there is now fertility problems. Typically how long do couples try before getting everything tested
We got prgenant about three years ago when we were trying but miscarried at 10 weeks.

Usually normal couples conceive within 2 years of trying. The fact that you conceived once 3 yrs ago may mean there may be nothing wrong both of you.
The chance of conceiving in each cycle is 15-20% only. That means you need to give it a minimum of 1 year . As both of you are young you can wait longer say 2 years.
I recommend the following.
use ovulation detection kit to check for ovulation. usually it happens around day 12-day 15. once you get positive result on the kit then time intercourse for 2 consecutive days. daily intercourse not recommended.
Take daily folic acid.
your husbands semen parameters are effected by life style such as smoking , alcohol. avoiding smoking is beneficial for fertility.
if you are ovulating regularly as detected by the kit but still don't get pregnant in say 6 months you can consider a visit to fertility specialist for semen analysis of your husband.
please provide details of the miscarriage which happened 3 yrs ago.

we were together for very long, I was on the teh birth control pill, never missed one took it every day at the same time. I was parnoid. and was extremely about taking it.
we alos were using condoms. To this the day not sure how it happend just know my doctor said there was extremely small chance and we were there.
we were nervous but ended up being happy about it.
just after i hit the ten week mark, I had extrem cramping and then started bleeding. we went to emerg and was told it was a miscarriage.
I ended up getting a DNC as well.
The doctors just said this can happen

Please be patient. As for miscarriage about one in 5 pregnancies are lost due to weak unhealthy embryos.
