Suggest Tests To Determine Iodine Deficiency

Question: I need to know if i am iodine deficient. What test can be done to determine this accurately?
I am 67 yrs old male.

Good day,
Iodine deficiency is assessed my multiple methods. Eg: Urine iodine test, Thyroid fuction tests, Ulrasound assesement of thyroid volume etc.

However, in your case, the easiest method would be to check Urine Iodine concentration. A singe early moring sample would do. But you need to find a place where they do this test as it is not widely available.

What I have read on the internet is that for urine test, I have to test before and after taking a iodine pill to see its absorption rate. Is this true?
Also, can blood test be done to check iodine deficiency?

A random morning Urine Iodine test gives an idea about your iodine status ( yours and probably of the local community too). I am not sure if the post iodine pill test will add any value ( if you want to know your iodine nutrition) . I will search about it.
