Suggest Tests To Diagnose Acid Reflux

Question: I have asked questions before on here. I am 61 yrs old female. I have acid reflux, IBS, asthma, anxiety. I have flare ups with all of these issues off and on over my life. I do have much anxiety and seeing a psychologist every month and on Zoloft . I also take Prilosec 2x a day for stomach. And qvar and nasal spray for asthma. About a month ago I got this lump feeling in my throat, sore throat too. When I eat it feels like it sticks there for a while. But this sensation of a lump is present whethter I EAT or swallow anything. I had bloodwork done and it was great. Went to 2 ENT and they scoped me. I was told I had some mild acid reflux and the other said I may have esophagneal spasms.. and this ENT also said it looked like my acid reflux was under control.. Then I had a abdominal xray... all they saw was a very small kidney stone.. I am so concerned about cancer. Both ENT 'S said its not cancer but how would they know? They can't see my esophagus...?
Brief Answer:
Upper Gastrointestinal endocsopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
I agree with you that a ENT specialist can not visualize the esophagus. You may have to consult a gastroentrologist who can perform the upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy where in he/she can visualize the pharynx, esophagus and stomach in detail. This would be the best test to rule out the cancer in you.
Need not worry, I too suspect the problem in you to be due to acid reflex rather than cancer. Its always better to rule it out by an endoscopy.
Wish you good health.
