Suggest Tests To Diagnose Gonorrhea And Chlamydia?
PCR or Polymerase chain reaction test is best
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for posting your query to the forum.
I can understand your concern for gonorrhea and chlamydia as well as for best test available for the same in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Suggesting regarding your query directly- The diagnosis of both gonorrhea and chlamydia can be done by simple gram staining followed by culture and sensitivity of the urine. This is one of the simplest and easily available method to detect both above. This test is available in all standard labs of Kolkata.
But many times due to improper collection of samples or due to contamination as well as stage and time period of the disease, the test may be false negative. So the sensitivity of the test may vary from person to person as well as the mode of collection and storage of sample.
Therefore in latest of scenario these have been followed by PCR or Polymerase chain reaction test. It is a highly advanced test and it detect the DNA or simply saying the nucleic acid of the causative agent so have more than 99% sensitivity and therefore considered to be best test.
In my patients I prefer to do PCR test for saving time as well as reducing the confusion of any type.
Also, as you have not mentioned the detailed history regarding why you want to get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia so for the best of the resource I suggest you to go for PCR test at any good certified labs in Kolkata such as at SRL Ranbaxy labs, near park street.
I also request you to kindly share your concern for which you want to go for the testing of gonorrhea and chlamydia so that I can guide you best clinically also.
I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further of your queries.

I am a newly married (1 month) person and after our first relation I found yellow pause from my penis for about 1 day and it clear after I taking plenty of water and wash it with plain water.
Now what i research from internet is that it may be an STD.
above symptom happens 4 week ago.
1 day of pus discharge is not always STD
Detailed Answer:
Hello young man,
Thanks for your prompt reply and adding informations to your query.
After reading your history I can make out that you got a fear of Sexually transmitted diseases in your mind and more specifically correlating to gonorrhea matching to symptoms of pus discharge after 1 day of intercourse and to chlamydia.
I can get that after that incidence you are almost symptom free and there is no discharge or any other symptoms are enumerated by you.
You are correct in your research that gonorrhea can be possibility in pus discharge after 1 day period. But to add on there should be burning during urination and a discomfort and pain in urethra which seldom get alright by itself and pus discharge continues till the time it is not treated properly.
Though in chlamydia discharge is not present just after 1 day but even then to consider the same, there should be a burning sensation when urinating whcih is also sometiems quite painful. There should be discharge with swollen or tender testicles and sometimes fever may accompany.
So you can get that both the problems do not seems to be correlated to your 1 day of pus discharge. I quite often see your kind of condition and specifically after marriage or first time sex. It is common to find mild infection and pus discharge due to vigorous act as well inflammation of the penile mucosa on forceful penetration. Hygiene many a times also play a role in causing pus discharge.
So in my opinion you should not be worried about the possibility of Sexually Transmitted Diseases. Even then you might want to confirm fully, so as it is 4 weeks since the incidence and there is no pus discharge or other symptom therefore urine culture and sensitivity will not help in your situation.
Therefore you can go for PCR test and can get relieved of the confusion. Do give me a follow up of your negative result.
I hope these informations will help you. I will be glad to answer any further of your queries.

But just to remove anxiety, which may cause our relationship a bit and my hesitation I decide to do the test just for the purpose of my confidence.
Just one last question. Is the " PCR gonorrhea and chlamydia test" test for urine or blood?
Can you write the test in one line so that I can produce it to the Lab?
