Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Carvedilol
Question: I regularly take carvedilol 3.125 twice a day. For the last week I have been having headaches daily. I rarely have headaches at all. I just took my blood pressure and it is 175/113. It usually runs about 138/78. It is 11:40 p.m. Can I take an additional carvedilol to bring it down until tomorrow when I can contact my physician? I am a 78 year old female who had bypass surgery in 25 years ago and have had no issues. email - YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
You can.
Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.
I would say it is fine to take an extra carvedilol, the dosage you are under is a small one, it can go much higher. Try to measure your pulse rate first to make sure they are not too slow as carvedilol slows heart beats. If over 60 beats per minute I do not think there is anything to fear and you can take it.
Let me know if I can further assist you.
