Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Venlafaxine Hydrochloride

Question: The nurse practioner wrote a script for venelafaxine 37.5. I didn't realize until I picked up the script that it is for hcl and is not the xr form. I have always taken the capsule xr form. Would it be the same effect to break the tablet in two and dose 2x day or should i call and ask them to phone in xr form

If this is 75mg pill then it can be crushed into 2 pieces and taken separately so there is no need to change prescription. There should not be significant change in action, but if you think that capsules fit you better then you can insist on it. Wish you good health. Regards

It's 37.5 it can be broken. I read however that the tablet form is to treat major depressive disorder and social anxiety where is the xr is for panic disorder and gad additionally. I take it for gad. Do you know of this is true or not? I can call the doctor office back its just that I was prescribed it Saturday and have to wait till tomorrow To call and then a few days for a new script to be called in

Hi and welcome. well the only difference is in type of medication,dosage is the same and this is the biggest factor that I influence efficiency. it means that capsules may be absorbed a bit morer quickly than tablets but these two have same indications and if you ask me,nothing will happen if you take these. However,you can always check with your doctor.
