Brief Answer:
No mistake
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
50000 IU vitamin D3 supplement once a week in scahet or tablets is the CORRECT dosage when you have been diagnosed as a low vitamin D3.
It also depends on how much vitamin D value was low if done by test at that time.
When serum vitamin d values goes under 10 ng then we also recommend 60,000 IU once weekly.
So,if two years ago he has given 50,000 dosage once weekly is not wrong.
5000 once weekly can also be given as a maintenance dose when one does not have adequate sunlight exposure.
I may agree with your doctor, no need to worry.
Hope this helps and let know if you need more clarifications.
