Suggest Treatment For 2.2cm Complex Pineal Cyst

Question: I have a 2.2cm complex pineal cyst causing mild tectal plate compression and aqeduct stenosis - latest MRI says it has remained 'relatively' stable across past year, no hydrocephaeus seen. What are the implications for me?

Hi and welcome to HCM. Pineal cysts are in most cases asymptomatic and dont require any treatment.

True, this is larger cyst than usual,but still even such cysts commonly dont lead to obstruction of brain aqeducts for whole life and surgery is avoided.
So you can hope for this scenario too,although some neurologic symptoms such as headache,vertifo or ataxia may occur,
ALso there must be adequate MRI follow up and when sign of hydrocephalus is detected,it should be managed surgically.
