Suggest Treatment For ADD
Question: Hello. I was diagnosed with ADD in my 20's. I was prescribed medications...adderall and ritalin were effective...stratera was not. I discontinued the medication after I finished my Bachelor's degree as I did not feel I needed the medication anymore. I am currently working full time, enrolled in a doctoral program, and I am a single parent with 4 children. I have tried to make appointments but I have limited time off from work as I need to save my time off for when my children are sick. My symptoms are significant and highly frustrating. I am having difficulties at work and at home, and the chaos with all my kids make my symptoms even worse.

If you have been diagnosed as a case attention deficit disorder, in that case, you need psycho-stimulant and try to take them after psychiatrist consultation. Usually, ADD decreases with time and in case, you are facing problem, you need these drugs again. In adult onset attention deficient disorder, treatment of choice is methylphenidate(ritalin) or amphetamine (adderall) or atomoxetine (strattera). All these drugs are psychotropic and not available over the counter. You need prescription for them. If last time, you felt better with ritalin or adderall, you can try them. Better to consult a psychiatrist for prescription and proper treatment.
