Question : what drugs is appropriate for the treatment of candidiasis infection and what are the complication of the infection,is it contagious?
Brief Answer:
it depends
Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM:.
First, if this is asymptomatic candiduria and it means that Candida is in urine but you dont have any symptoms such as pain during urination, then no therapy is required. If you have symptoms you should take Fluconasole course for 2 weeks.
ALso, this is not contagious. Complications are rare and include those in other uroinfections. The most serious would be pyelonephritis but this rarely happens. People with candida in urine should do urologic work up to rule out possible urogenital diseases. Wish you good health. Regards
