Suggest Treatment For Corex Addiction

clonidine is used fir detox & get tests
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Its appreciable that you have decided to quit this addiction.
The drug detoxification is the process of removing the substance of abuse (corex in your case- that is an opoid) by giving various medicines to help in withdrawal time
Generally, it is recommended to get basic tests- cbc, lft, rft, lipid prfile and ultrasound abdomen in initial part of treatment. This helps in ruling out any major harm done to the body by drugs.
In an uncomplicated case of opioid abuse detox is done with clonidine tablet, alongwith pain killer 3-4 times a day, ors or some electrol supplement all day long, an antacid, something to help in sleep- like I prefer chlordiazepoxide 25-75mg and multivitamin.
The detox usually completes in a week or ten days depending on the amount of drug used , time of last drug intake and tolerance of withdrawal.
you have not mentioned the quantity of corex you use or when did you take it last and how much and if you abuse any other substance as well. These information is important for giving medicines correctly.
Please feel free to ask more questions for clarification.
wish you good health.

get the tests and start medicine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
1. Usually we start with clonidine 0.1mg tablets one in morning, one in afternoon and two in evening. Take this for two days.
On third day- take one in morning and two in evening.
If everything is ok,then on fourth day one tablet is taken in morning and one in evening.
Fifth day- only one in evening.
and this is stopped completely after two days.
Important point- this medicine is not taken if Blood pressure falls below- 90/60mm Hg.
2. Alongwith clonidine- we give pain killer three times a day. I prefer diclofenac sodium 50mg or 100mg. The number of tablets can be reduced by the patient if pain is less.
pain killer is continued for a week or so.
3. For loose stools- ORS solution is preffered. Take adequate water all day long. Loose motions are normal when one leaves corex, so just eat well . Loose motions usually stops in two to three days.
4. An antacid like pantoperazole is taken daily to help in digestion. This is taken for ten days usually.
5. If there is sleep problem - take chordiazepoxide 25mg tablet at night. Two tablets can also be taken.
You have not told when you took corex last time? Today or yesterday or before?
also, get the tests -Blood pressure, CBC, ECG, Sugar - fasting, lipid profile, thyroid function test, liver function and kidney function test and ultra sound abdomen.
wish you good luck.
I have tried to use simple language in reply;please feel free to ask more questions for clarification.

The process of leaving opioid( like corex) is usually painful, espically in legs. Along with this there can be loose motions for few days like 2/3 days.
Dont worry, patients start feeling good in two to three days.
You may take leave for some days and take rest during this time.
Its not very difficult, people do it successfully.
