Suggest Treatment For GERD And Palpitations
Question: Hi Doc,
Advice from you would really help. Ok so here is the story. Every now and then I get tense as we say and go to the ER and do an EKG on the heart. always comes back normal. My dad had a heart attack at 45 , now thank God he is great and I am 44 now and usually great shape. I take 10 mg of Ramitins BP meds mostly because it's borderline high. I suffer from GERD and occasionally take Nexium 40mg when needed for heartburn. I changed my life style and the picture below is after running about 15 minutes. I feel today like My HEART is pounding and
beating fast but it's at 54 which isn't fast. Opinion here as everything seems to be normal. Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!
Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to pure anxiety.
You should know that anxiety can mimic a lot of symptoms and can play some funny games with your body.
But as a cardiologist, I would like to reassure you that your symptoms are not related to any cardiac disorders.
Your normal cardiac tests are another argument which exclude any cardiac disorders.
So, just relax and don't worry about it!
I would recommend performing Yoga. Consulting with a psychotherapist can help.
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr.Iliri
