Suggest Treatment For HBV Infection

Question: Tested positive for hbv a month ago. Suspect I was infected six months ago. HBsAg load was less than 100IU/ml at time of test. Is that a good indicator I may be clearing infection? Worried because I had HPV and it took much longer than typical 24 months to clear. Also, should I stop taking my blood pressure meds?

Brief Answer:
Yes, It's a good sign...

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking on HCM.

You are reporting to have been positive for HBV a month ago. Hbs Ag viral load less than 100 IU/ml is a low level and indicates that you have low chances of chronic hepatitis.
It is a good sign of viral clearance.
I suggest to repeat it after 6 months.

With regards to your blood pressure meds , yes you can take them regularly, there is no interactions.

Hope it was helpful to you!

Hello Dr. Shehu,

Thank you so very much.

Just want to be clear. I suspect I was infected close to six months ago but I did not get tested until late November. My test in November indicated the low viral load. Again, just wanted to be clear on that.

Also, thank you for answering the question regarding the blood pressure medication.

Regards

Detailed Answer:
Hi back
Thank you for providing more of your medical history.
I understood what you want to say and till my opinion is the same. At your case makes sense to hope and wait for a viral clearance since you have a low viral load and only 6 month after exposure.
Hope it was helpful to you.
