Suggest Treatment For PCOS And Hyperprolactinaemia

Question: Hello, I am a 31 year old female, smoker, the only medical problems I have are PCOS and hyperprolactinaemia. I recently had an MRI to look for a pituitary tumor. I recently had my first child in 2013 and was diagnosed with preeclampsia. There were no tumors, but it showed a "small focal area of T2 hyperintensity in the right posterior frontal lobe possibly associated with remote prior insult versus demyelinating process. No evidence of active demyelination". I have recently been having headaches and very fatigued. Could you please let me know what the MRI means?

Brief Answer:
Hyperintensity may be the sequel of past brain trauma.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
MRI findings suggests a small T2 hyper intensity in right frontal lobe,it may be sequel of prior brain injury.
Hyper intensities more than five in number should be a matter of concern. In this condition it may be due to ischemic changes, demyelinating disease, lyme's disease etc.

Your age doesn't support ischemic changes.Ischemia may be due to vascular problem resulting from hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia.

Demyelinating disease is associated with many clinical findings and this is not a typical site of common demyelinating disease like multiple sclerosis.

Besides routine blood investigations, you may require follow up MRI to see any progression in lesions.

It is good that there is no tumour in pituitary region. There is also no active demyelination.
Headache and fatigue may be due to many reasons like hypertension, metabolic disorders etc,it need proper work-up.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.
