Suggest Treatment For PCOS While Trying To Conceive

Question: I have been trying to conceove for 4 month now.I have PCOS .My doctor put me on clomid 100 mg to help me ovulate .I ovulated for the 3 month on clomid only but didnt get preganant.This cylcle i went to another dr for secound opionion .he suggested i take clomid and Merional 75iu injection on day 7 ,8 ,9 of my period then trigger shot when it is time for ovulation or the eggs are mature.what is confusing me is that he told me i ll have 4 or 5 eggs which ll increase the chance of preganancy.on the other hand my previous doctor has told me while on clomid only without injection that if cause hyperstimaltion or i had more than 2 eggs he ll cancel my cycle .please advise me i am concered and confused .p.s i have been ovulating every month on clomid only now for 3 cycle i don't understand the urge for the injections and how both doctor had different point of view of having more than egg released

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about hyperstimulation.

Following is my reply:

1) Your first doctor was right about not getting more than 2 eggs in view of hyperstimulation.

2) Getting injections likemerinol with clomid will have chances of hyperstimulation.

3) But it is not possible to have hyperstimulation with just 75 IU of Merinol on 7,8 and 9th day. You need to try this regimen this time as clomid only regimen has failed you.

4) Looking at the picture I dont see any need to worry about hyperstimulation and you can try with injections as there is good chance of pregnancy with injections being added.

Thank you doctor for your answer .so injection ll help me even though i have been ovulating using clomid only on 3rd day .if yes do those injections have side effects.
when should my doctor cancel my cycle if i tried it.

You are right. Injections will help you even if you are ovulating with clomid.

Injections dont have considerable side effects.

Docotr can cancel cycle if you get more than 5 follicles of 18 mm.

Hi,
If i get 4 focilles .does it mean 4 eggs to be released with the trigger shot.

Can the four eggs be fertilized and i end up with for babies .Is it a must to have multiple birth on injections.I have read so much about the risk of multiple birth were it ends up with miscarriages.please advise l

Hi,

First goal is to have a pregnancy be it single or multiple.

Multiple follicles do pose a possibility of multiple pregnancy but they also increase chances of pregnancy.

Multiple does have certain complications but not in everyone. You should rake a chance with multiple follicles as you have not been successful with less follicles.
