Suggest Treatment For Parkinsons Plus Syndrome
Question: My father 75 years is suffering from Parkinson plus, he never had tremors but he lost complete body balance also developed brain hemorrhage. He is in a very bad state and we are only just able to make him eat food. Only medicine is syn-dopa , which is not effective. Once in a month time i see a bit of eve movement . He has become very thin. He has also developed a type 4 bed sore even we take all possible care. can u suggest some medicine which may bring some life to him. He has been in this state for almost 2 years. I dont know what to do.

I have noted your father's symptoms and it is unfortunate to note that he is suffering from Parkinsons plus syndrome. This is different from Parkinson's disease (PD), as people with PD respond to medications such as Syndopa, whereas people with Parkinsons plus do not get better with syndopa. Moreover, they worsen very rapidly.
At this stage, there are no medications to cure or make a significant improvement in his condition of Parkinsons plus. He needs to be looked after well and he should be given a lot of tender loving care.
This would include feeding via naso-gastric tube, regular physiotherapy, changing his position on bed every two hours, and doing daily dressing of bed sores.

Sir any medication can u suggest for bed sore so that it does not deteriorate.
