Brief Answer: Its a long term treatment Detailed Answer: Hello Sir, I am consulting at present for your wives problem. I have gone through the attached report and your statements and I also feel that the illness is schizophrenia. Now schizophrenia requires long term treatment, and the treatment may continue for years. Don't see a neurologist and you should see a psychiatrist for this illness, which you are already consulting. It seems the illness is resistant and for that you will require clozapine. Clozapine is a special drug for treatment resistant schizophrenia. It can be started at 12.5 mg and then gradually increased to 250-300mg. It will require frequent CBC screening to look for leukopenia. Never ever think of stopping the treatment. Ones you stop the treatment, the illness will increase tremendously and then she will have to be admitted for the same. Regards Dr. Srikanth Reddy MD
