Is Clozapine Interacting With Other Psychotic Medications?
I have a an adult foster care home and a new client of mine has recently been put on clozapine which I know from experience is a pretty strong medication and needs a lot of monitoring. Since he moved in with us he has not been stable enough to stay at home for more than three days and he starts getting really delusional. He is on 700 mg. The other psychotic medications are zyprexa and affexor. Can there be a contraindication happening here?
Hello, Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query. I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through. There is no significant interaction between the drugs that you have mentioned. But looking at the medications, and their dosages it appears that the patient is probably having resistant schizophrenia and its a difficut to treat illness. If he is still having delsuions, then it would be wise to get him admitted. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
