Suggest Treatment For UTI

Question: I am a healthy 24 year old...never had a uti or yeast infection. When I pee..it feels like there is a cut. it doesnt burn but i am going often and I feel like istill have to go more..but im done. I went to a walk in clinic today and dr did urine test and came back negative. he also said he thinks it is uti and 20% of tests come back neg and then after culture turn positive. wants me to start macrodantin. Havent had sex in 4 months...not related tothat. Your thoughts??

According to your information, it may be Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) or Bladder infection. One urine culture test will be worthwhile to confirm the diagnosis.

PREVENTION: You can take URINE ALKALISER along with prescribed antibiotic. In addition, you must drink plenty of water (2.5 to 3 lit/ day), take cranberry juice regularly, maintain genital hygiene (during sexual activity also), empty bladder in time, avoid unprotected sex and wear clean-cotton underwear only.

Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

Your clinical symptoms are MOSTLY suggestive of Urinary Tract or Bladder Infection whether you may get NEGATIVE test result.

Sometimes, routine urine examination may give NEGATIVE or FALSE result due to inadequate number of bacteria in given sample (in spite of positive symptoms).

Therefore, you must undergo URINE CULTURE to rule out causative organism and clean catch mid-stream urine sample is preferable for that. It is worthwhile in comparison to routine urine examination.

Until then, you can continue prescribed antibiotic and follow previous advices.
