Question: My mother who is 81 suddenly has a golf ball size lump on the side of her neck it happened very fast
Her gums are sore when she eats and has false teeth plus has sore in her nostrils that has been going on & off for a month mostly the right nostril

This is most probably swollen lymph node and this may occur as reaction to any infection in your body including tooth infection. I suggest to take antibiotics and do ultrasound of this lump with needle aspiration. Other possibilities are lipoma or ateroma and both should be surgically removed. Wish you good health. Regards
