Suggest Treatment For A Non Cancerous Lump On The Palate
Question: My sister has a tumor in her mouth on palet. Very painful has puss coming out. Been there about 7 years now. Doctors in zimbabwe said they have no equipment to operate. Anti biotics and pain killers haven't helped. Any suggestion on how to manage pain, reduce swelling or puss. They did tests and said its not cancerous.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
As per your complain if your sister is having a pus filled painful lump on the palate which is not cancerous then first of all please tell me that did you visit a General Physician or Oral surgeon in this regard?
Does she have any medical problems or known allergies?
Do she also have any nasal drainage of pus or pain on cheek or blocked nose?
Secondly can be please upload her reports that must be given to you after testing her to check whether it is cancerous or not?
Also if possible to upload a clear picture of the lump?

she has been seen by many doctors in Zimbabwe over the years. has had blood tests and biopsy done. tested for hiv and is negative. Biopsy from tuor showed no cancer. Its a tumor and sometimes it bleeds and has pus. She is in pain. I have uploaded medical report but please do not publish it as it contains her name.
Brief Answer:
Did not receive the upload..

Hi..
Welcome back..
I have not received any image over here..
Well, as per your description, you should once consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated..
In case, if there is pus formation again, then Incision and Drainage can help in reducing infection followed by Oral and injectible antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers and steroids..
As of now she should apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the lump..
She should continue taking antibiotics and along with it stronger painkillers like Tramadol can be taken but only after consulting a local Physician..
She can also be given painkillers injection along with a steroid injection to reduce pain and swelling..
Any further questions are welcome..
