Suggest Treatment For A Painful Hemorrhoid During Pregnancy
Question: Hi, am 19 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I have a painful hemoroid and the GP proscribed Anusol HC suppositories and Anusol HC cream. Since tgey contain hydrocortisone am afraid to use them. I have also Procto-glycenol suppositories in the house? Which one is safer to use?
Thanks
Thanks
Brief Answer:
use proctoglyvenol suppositories and anusol hc cream for local application.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query to hcm,
YES, agree that ANUSOL HC has hydrocortisone, but its wiser to use PROCTO-GLYFVENOL suppositories instead of anusol hc suppositories, however you may use anusol hc cream locally along with proctoglyvenol suppository.
Twice a day application of the cream will not cause any harm to the foetus anyways simply because the concentration of hydrocortisone is very low and the child is already in the third trimester to have any effects on the child even if there is a local absorption. So you can use them safely in the anal canal.
