Question: Hi i recently had an ovarian cancer blood test due to abdominal and lower back pain. My CA125 result was 20 and my HE3 was 58 leading to a high risk XXXXXXX result. I was very worried to went for an ultrasound which showed nothing untoward. Should i be worried?

Hi,

I understand your concerns about risk of ovarian cancer.

CA 125 and other hormones could also be raised in other conditions like endometriosis, inflammation etc..

They don't mean cancer.

However to be on safe side I suggest you undergo Fine needle Aspiration Cytology ( FNAC) of ovaries to rule out cancer completely.

This is simple and safe test.
