Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Bloating And Constipation
ith an obstruction? I've been bloated for 10 days and then in the last 3 days was constipated, nauseous with pain. I've still had bowel movement and today the bloating and constipation is a little better but still nauseous and fairly bloated. I eat vegetables and exercise daily. I've had issues with constipation on and off most of my life and my periods are sometimes irregular. 29 f, no prescriptions no alcohol and not pregnant.

Hello and welcome,
If your BMs are normal in size/quantity and frequency, then your bloating may not be from constipation. It is possible to still poop with an obstruction from constipation but usually then a person just passes liquid stool around the obstruction.
Nausea with bloating can sometimes be from upper digestive problems. If there is aching pain in the upper abdomen or on the upper left side, it may be due to gastritis or duodenitis in which case an acid reducer such as Zantac (ranitidine) 150 mg twice a day may help. Simethicone, which breaks up gas, would be another thing to consider (such as Gas X).
If the pain is in the upper right side of your abdomen, the problem could be from the gall bladder. If that is the case, then an ultrasound can help sort out what is going on.
Unless it is typical for you to have nausea and bloating with constipation, I think it is more likely to be from upper GI problems as explained.
I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information.

If you think that you may still be constipated, you can take a laxative tonight to make sure things continue to move out, but that may not be the problem.
Try the simethicone (GasX), but if the pain is getting worse, and especially as this is worse than you have had before, I think you will need to go in to be seen at urgent care.
