Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Bloating And Pain

Question: Yes, for the second day now I have pain in the left side of my stomach and hip. It is extended/bloated painful to touch and I have a temp of 101. No vomiting or other symptoms but, it is not going away.Had bowel movement this am. It hurts to touch, etc. I have not fallen or lifted any heavy objects. Pain scale 5. Other side of stomach is fine.

Hi,

As per your description, it looks like Inflammation of the Colon, particularly Descending /Sigmoid colon. In such scenario, I advice antibiotic like Levofloxacin 250mg twice daily after food, Pre and Probiotic capsule twice daily after food to my patients with similar complaints. I'd also like to add antispasmodic tablet containing Dicyclomine to my patients.

If there is still no response, I'd like to go for investigations like Ultrasound abdomen, Colonoscopy. Diverticulitis has to be excluded.
