Suggest Treatment For Abusive Behavior In Children Towards Their Mother
So far the police, social workers, child protective services, the school system have all been involved, but no one has helped because no need is found. I am their pastor, and they came to me for help, I finally ran out of ideas. They already are in professional counselling which has not helped either. I thought of Munchausen disorder for the mother, but now it doesn't seem to fit. Help?
Cognitive behavioral therapy from a psychologist may help.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I understand your concerns. Although the police, social workers, the child protective services as well as the school system have all been involved, it was perhaps more important to seek support from a psychologist who could administer something called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) both for the children as well as the mother. It will call for regular follow up and also cooperation from either sides. Based on the feedback of the psychologist, psychiatric assistance might also need to be sought. It is very unlikely that someone like me sitting remotely would he able to review the situation thoroughly and therefore it is very difficult for me or any other person in my place to be able to help you further with respect to the ways of behavioral modification. But I feel that CBT is quite effective and should take care of the situation.
I do not think that this has any relation to Munchausen syndrome.
