Suggest Treatment For Acne Due To Kerosene Exposure
Question: My daughter works at a factory where they wash the parts with kerosene. She is breaking out severely (pimple-like) from the kerosene exposure. Is there anything she can do to diminish these breakouts?

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
She probably has acne and exposure to Kerosene can precipitate it. It's more often due to hormonal changes occurring in her at this age.
A local application containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid helps to clear it gradually. She should also wear protective gear to reduce exposure to Kerosene.
If these measures don't solve the problem, she should see a dermatologist as she might require systemic treatment with antibiotic, hormonal tablet or isotretinoin.
