Suggest Treatment For Acne

Question: Hi,
This question is for Dr. XXXXXXX who prescribed medicines the last time.
I have completed the 5 day course of the medicines as per your prescription. Although I feel the acne on the back have reduced by 10% but still they're is no major improvement.
Can you please suggest something.

Hi dear,
As you are not relieved aggressive therapy should be taken.
Firstly go for blood test called complete blood count and differencial leucocyte count.
Stool routine and microscopy.
Have you taken cefixime,diclofenac,allegra and oint dresin?
Please enumerate the name and doses of medicines you are on.

I took cefixime and diclofenac twice for 5 days and allegra once for two days as i used to get very sleepy the next day after taking allegra.
Haven't applied the oint.
Currently I am on no medicined

Hi again,
In that case go for Complete blood count and differential blood count test along with stool routine and microscopy.
Take tablet Albendazole 400mg once daily at night time for 3 days(dewormingg)
Tab Clindamycin 300mg twice daily for 3 days.
Tab Signoflam twice daily.
Tab levocetrizine 10mg once at night.
If not relieved in 3 days then follow up in person with a skin specialist.
Are you on any hormonal pill etc?

No, but I had an abortion 2 months back. All these problems have started after that only.

Hi again,
See most likely there is some infection in body as a result of aseptic procedures due to abortion or secondly there is some hormonal disbalance in body due to abortion.
I would suggest you not to take any medication and to consult a gynecologist/Endocrinologist.
They are not simple acne.
We have to rule out the possibilities initially.
If it would have been mild infection it would have responded to cefixime (antibiotic).
Advice-
Initially go for CBC,TLC,DLC,urine routine microscopy,Stool routine and microscopy test.
Follow up with reports and in person consult a Gynecologist.
