1. From the above description of your symptoms, the probability of a viral flu is more likely. The symptoms began with sudden onset and there is no significant worsening of the symptoms. The throat pain in viral flu can occasionally worsen and you will recover from this slowly over a week.

2. It looks like the particular strain of flu caused mainly sore throat. There is no fever, cough or rhinitis as you have mentioned. The weather changes in your surroundings can cause this type of flu attack.

3. Please take precautions, do warm water gargle two times daily and eat soft diet which can be swallowed with minimum pain and discomfort. Sucking on strepsils will give you comfort. If there is any worsening or symptoms persisting for over a week then a secondary bacterial infection can be suspected.
