40years ago Ian taking trikka 0.5
Brief Answer:
You can leave it very gradully
Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for writing to us.
You are addicted since 40 years. At present you are taking 0.5 mg trikka 5 tablets daily means total 2.5 mg.
You should reduce 0.25 mg every week up to 1 mg.
For 1 week 4 and half tablets daily, next week 4 tablets daily, next week 3 and half tablets daily and so on up to you reach 2 tablets daily.
Afterwards you need to have 0.250 mg tablets (half of it equals to 0.125 mg)or you should break 0.500 mg in to four parts(one part equals to 0.125 mg). You need to decrease 0.125 mg every week.
Means 0.875 mg for one week daily,0.750 mg daily for a week, 0.625 mg for a week, 0.500 mg a week, 0.375 mg a week, 0.250 mg a week and 0.125 mg a week and stop.
I have mentioned the safest schedule for deaddiction considering your age of 68. By this way you do not have any significant withdrawal symptoms at all.
In any case if you find difficulty you should consult your treating doctor as well as inform doctor about this deaddiction schedule.
Hope I have answered your query I will be happy to help further.
