Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It appears to be possible allergic rashes.
2. As the medication is stopped, if its allergic, it will start reducing.
3. Steroids cannot be started now, as it will be unnecessary as amoxil or suspected tegretol is stopped. Also starting steroids will reduce immunity and affect blood sugar levels.
4. Perindo, may not be causing it. As there is a known allergy to amoxil, need to wait and watch. If it continues to increase, perindo might need to be changed to other anti-hypertensives.
5. Get a routine hemogram. Look for any eosinophilia or lymphocytosis. If eosinophilia is present, it is possible allergic reaction. Lymphocytosis, may point out towards a possible viral infection.
He will require good hydration (atleast 6-8 liters of water) and protein rich diet to improve immunity. Maintaining the area of rashes clean, is very important to avoid secondary infection. Antibiotic creams can be used, if any ulceration is present.
If there is any itching, antihistamines like loratidine will be helpful.
Get a complete hemogram to look for any change in white blood cell values. Based on that further opinion possible.
Also do let me know, if any specific medications are prescribed for the rashes.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, here to help again.
with regards,
Dr. Prakash HM
