Brief Answer:
We cannot tell until after surgery!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this back pain and the upcoming surgery for ovarian cyst. I have reviewed your information fully and it is clearly difficult to tell whether it is cancer for sure or not. Cancer is only confirmed after examining the specimen in the laboratory and all we can do at this stage is to say whether it could be cancer or not.

The size isn’t that big to be concerning for cancer. I will say the odds are more for it not to be cancerous. However, let’s wait until after the surgery. If during surgery the doctor has reasons to suspect it being cancer, he will remove as much tissue together with the cyst to make sure no potential cancerous remnants are left behind.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
