Suggest Treatment For Anal Itching
Primary care physician, fruits., vegetables, worms, piles, exam
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
I understand how disturbing and annoying anal itches could be. However, the causes could range from simple irritations, certain intestinal worms, piles (hemorrhoids) or simple cracks especially in people who have experienced lately some constipation.
It could be important to know if you experience other symptoms like anal pain, have blood in your stool, have any accompanying abdominal pain and if you are experiencing this for the first time or not. If no blood and no anal pain, it might be a an emergency.
Seeing your primary care physician remains very important in this case. A simple clinical examination will exclude the possibility of piles. A stool exams will inform us if there are intestinal worms (especially the whip worm) easily treatable with very cheap drugs. Any cracks , fissures or irritation shall be easily seen with a physical examination. Appropriate medications can then be prescribed.
As you await to see your primary care physician, measures to reduce constipation, in case you got it, could be very helpful. Drinking a lot of water, avoiding hard foods and taking much fruits and vegetables could be initial helpful measures.
Thanks as I wish you the best of health. Do not hesitate asking in case you got any more questions or clarifications in case of need.
Kind regards as I wish you good health,
Dr Bain
