Suggest Treatment For Anxiety, IBS And Dizziness
Question: Hi. My son is 12 years old. He has mild autism and very high anxiety. He is not an active child but I am concerned he may have diabetes. I don't know which one 1 or 2. He gets throat closures about once or twice a week. He suffers a lot of bones or muscle pain. He has irritable bowel syndrome so he does get a lot of pain down there. He suffers nausea and gets chills and clammy now and then. He eats like a horse. He is going through hormones.but he doesn't drink or urinate much. He gets I think dehydrated when our heater is on. Dizziness now and then. Do u think it's his anxiety or maybe diabetes. Diabetes doesn't run in our family. He also gets a very smelly breath too. Thank
Brief Answer:
Your son requires evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Noted your concern.
After going through your question your child has frequent infections, abnormally increased hunger, symptoms of dehydration and occasional abdominal symptoms.
Yes all this may be due to diabetes or hormonal changes in this age group.
In such case I may suggest you should consult pediatrician for detailed history taking and physical examination.
Along with this random blood sugar should be done.
Depending upon this further evaluation if needed can be planned.
Hope this helps you.
