I will tell you about meditation and yoga in general.
Meditation can be of many types according to the school of thought. I personally follow the art of living. And it has worked for me (I have been through my package of anxieties and stresses). I was an emotionally weak person before meditation. I resorted to meditation before I took antidepressants. That was two years ago and till date I have NOT needed anti-anxiety and anti-depressant medicines. In art of living I have seen many other people fighting their stresses and depressions with meditation and yoga. So this was my experience.
I have read the website on MBSR. It seems very similar to the meditation that I have been doing. If you learn to live in the present moment, you will be in bliss. It is better done under guidance of a XXXXXXX or a teacher. You can do it along with your religious beliefs. And I am sure it will work for you.
