Question: My husband, age 41, had an aortic valve replacement and ascending aorta graft for a large aneurysm last Monday. He wants to resume smoking marijuana after discharge. He has used it in small amounts daily for back pain for years. Is this a terrible idea?

Brief Answer:
Terrible idea

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

Yes it is a terrible idea and may compromise already weaker heart. It increases the heartbeat to dangerous levels which a replaced aortic valve might not cope up with . Also lungs get distorted and immune system also gets fried.

Apart from this dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dry or red eyes, heart and blood pressure problems, lung problems, impaired mental functioning, headache, dizziness, numbness, panic reactions, hallucinations, flashbacks, depression, and sexual problems are some of the many issues this pandora's box opens for you.

I hope it helps. Take good care of him and yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

May the odds be ever in your favour.
