Question: Hi,

20 days ago i had spotted white patch on my wrist, went to skin specialist. She advised to take Antoxid-HC tablets each per day at night. I did for 20 days. Next day i went to root canal treatment. It's started and he gave tablets below -

1. T. Tinimox - 9 - 1,1,1 - 3days
2. T. Combiflam - 6 - 1,1,1, - 2 days
3. T.Renitin 150mg - 6 - 30mins before food - 1,0,1 - 3 days

along with that i had taken antoxid also without doctor knowledge.

I did and on 4th day again root canal second sitting happened. Again following medics given-

1. T. Tinimox - 6 - 1,1,1 - 3days
2. T. Combiflam - 4 - 1,1,1, - 2 days
3. T.Renitin 150mg - 6 - 30mins before food - 1,0,1 - 3 days

After 2 days i had noticed some v shaped bumps on back side of my tongue , become panic , because whatever i ate it stucks for a second at the junction of the throat. Rushed to dentist and showed to them. When i asked whether it is any carcinoma kinda.. they told they see it as papillary enlargement and advised to have below medics -

stop all above medics and use below -
sporlac DS - 5 days - 1,0,0
Oral rinse - Tantum - Thrice a day.

I went to ENT to satisfy myself on second opinion. He checked my ear, nose, throat and tongue. He said need not worry. Asked to take addition below ones to above -

1. Cobadex - 10 - 1 per day at night.
2. Dentogel to be rubbed with buds over that bumps thrice a day.

----- I am just doing it for past 2 days. and had not taken very good food due to some upset about my health. Today morning started dizziness slightly, had good food and overcome it. Now sometimes my stomach pains in mid of lunch , feeling of running to toilet .. Then blotting comes from past 2 days..

Really iam worried that i had affected from any cancer :( .. Please tell m what exactly iam going through now. If any pics, details to be sent about my bumps on tongue ..please let me know..

Also my ENT told my tongue is Geographic type..

Brief Answer:
Aphthous ulcers

Detailed Answer:
Hello Some,

I have read your query in detail. I have seen the uploaded image, and gone though your medication history.

In my view, you have developed Aphthous ulcers or canker sores, which are common following antibiotic treatment, and root canal treatment.

You need not panic about the same; you are not affected from any cancer.

Your ENT doctor is right in that you have geographic tongue. It is normal, you need not do anything about it.

Please continue Cobadex as advised. It is the treatment for Aphthous ulcers. Please take plenty of citrus fruits like oranges and lemon juice. They help in faster healing.

Get well soon.

Thank you so much Dr. XXXXXXX

Last night i felt stomach burning sensation after my dinner and immediate going to toilet feeling, but not easy, is this normal during the medication ?

Iam also taking Sporlac DS in morning. Is this also related to that ulcer ?

When i just browsed Bumps on my tongue over tongue , i get a term called " curriculum papillae " .. those images also similar to mine, is this also causes due to ulcer or is it seperate scenario..

Whatever medics iam taking now is sufficient or need anything else ?

Please let me know.

Also I see citric acid triggers the aphthous ulcers... Can you clarify again?

Brief Answer:
Circumvallate papillae explained

Detailed Answer:
Hi some,

Yes, it is normal to have these symptoms while on medication.

I am glad you are taking Sporlac DS. It helps in replenishing the intestinal flora. Continue to take it as advised. This is not related to the ulcer.

Circumvallate papillae are normal findings in the posterior part of tongue. They are seen in all humans. Nothing to be done for it. It is definitely not due to ulcer and is not a separate scenario. It is a normal component of the tongue.

No need to take extra medicines; continue the current ones.

No, lemon and oranges and other citrus fruits contain high amount of vitamin C. This helps in faster wound healing. Citric acid may increase the symptoms of stomach ulcer and not aphthous ulcers.

Get well soon.

Many thanks DR.

Iam not trying to complicate my case. but still i notice changes. Yesterday met doctor who did root canal. He also thinks that papalle might by due to root canal reaction. But from last five days iam getting blotting and no proper digestion. So he advised to take Pan 40 for next 20 days, and he told it would help in releasing gastric problems.. I will start Pan 40 by tommorow each day 1 before 30 mins of food..

Well today i notice stool ( pale yellow, brown) with mucus ..is it serious or normal ??. What medic reaction it could be ?.. Should i use Pan 40 .. whether any side effects ?? Honestly speaking iam getting mad day by day,, unable to work or play with my kid.. Please help me !!

FYI .. I have sinus also.

Brief Answer:
it is normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello Some,

It is normal to have pale, yellow, brown stool with mucus in it. It is not a reaction to medicine.

Please use Pan 40; it would definitely help you. There are no side effects of Pan 40 as such.

I am sorry but please do not worry much. There are other people who are suffering from serious, complicated illnesses. You are not that. Please be glad that you are in good health except for this minor problem.

My 'hi' to your kid.

These symptoms are not related to your sinus problem.

Get well soon.
