Hi,
Thank you for the query.
Cheek bite is a most common problem among every individual. Cause for it varies ,may be due to a sharp margins formed due to attrition of the teeth in aging , due habits like tobacco chewing. Usually if left unattended it may lead to formation of cancerous lesion due to repeated trauma . Selective grinding in case of sharp or irregularity in teeth can be done.Another possibility is lack of proper occlusion when closing the mouth or biting or chewing the food. If it is because of improper occlusion then it requires corection of occlusion . Your dentist can diagnose the reason for the cheek bite and treat accordingly. Hope the information will help you.

Hello there,

cheek bite is a common problem but often leads to serious complications and so cannot be neglected. frequent cheek biting leads to indentation marks on cheek it may cause ulceration, white chronic patches may even progress to cancer. Few tips to avoid this habit;

. loose facial musculature at old age can be corrected by few facial exercises like blowing your cheek out one side followed by other,this may help tighten the muscle.

. consicious chewing of bubble gums tighten the cheek muscles,

. at night times bite blocks can be used to prevent cheek bite,

. selective grinding of sharp cuspal edges of teeth by a dentist helps in avoiding trauma to the tissue,

. stress and anxiety relief helps .

i hope you work over these tips , take care.

hello & welcome
as you complain that there is a regular cheek biting along with loose facial muscle some more reasons may be there like sharp cusp teeth, wisdom teeth etc.
due to age sometime even cusps of teeth become very sharp because of attrition lead to chronic chic biting.
Secondly if there is any tilted wisdom tooth that is going beyond arch upper or lower may cause cheek biting.
so visit your dentist once for further assistance.
thanks & take care
