Suggest Treatment For Arthritis In The Index And Middle Toes Joints

Question: I had a Right knee scope in October of last year. The post-op was normal (it was my second one on this knee) everything was good for about 6 to 8 weeks. Since then I have had far more pain and weakness in that knee and after sitting for any amount of time, the knee does not want to bend without needing to be slowly bent. Now there is sever pain in the "index" toe and middle toe on my right foot. Nothing on my Left side at all. Is it possible that I am experiencing an issue with my lower back instead of something going on with my Right knee? I am a 48 year old male,if that helps. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be early osteoarthritic of knee joint.

Detailed Answer:

Hi
Thanks for your query

I'm Dr Sudhir Kumar

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. You are likely to be having early osteoarthritic of your right knee as it is common in your age. This is confirmed by x ray knee joint in standing. Glucosamine is helpful in slowing the degenerative process and to some extent repair. If pain radiates from back and there is tingling and numbness in toes then it may be related to lumbar spine ( back issue) , otherwise it seems to be due to arthritis. There can also be arthritis in the index and middle toes joints. To exclude back issues MRI of lumbar spine is helpful.

You can discuss with your doctor about it.

Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then I will be happy to help you.

Wishing you a good health.
Take care.
