Question: Dear Sir,

I would like to have your advice for my grandfather who’s 84 years old. It’s been a month he is unable to eat food & having back pain. Since one week he is suffering from severe lose motion and unable to eat anything. We consulted with local physician and got CECT scan done. Attached is the report of the test.

I was informed that this could be a cancer and I should consult an Oncologist for further treatment.

Please let me know what exactly the test report suggests and the best way to treat it. Also, suggest me if any surgery required.

Thank you in advance!

Brief Answer:
PET scan

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Your grandfather is suffering from stage 4 cancer that has spread to liver as per the CT scan report.

I will advise a PET scan for him and if any space occupying lesion is found then to do biopsy from it to find the primary source of cancer.

Once the primary source is identified palliative chemotherapy has to be started at the earliest.

Regards
