Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Infection And Platelet Count

it is due to bacteraemia. give him treatment immediately
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, welcome to HCM and thanks for choosing us.
Low platelet count (thrombocytopenia) is condition which can be due to several causes. Mainly viral infections are responsible for low platelets, but bacterial infections can also cause low platelets if infection releases bacteria into blood. This condition is called bacteraemia. Bacteria in blood destroy the platelets and that causes low platelet count.
Bacterial infections also leads to spleen enlargement. Enlarged spleen also traps platelets, thus leading to decreased count.
However patient recovers well once infection is controlled. So meet a doctor and start treatment immediately. I hope my reply will help you. Please write to us for follow up queries. Kindly rate this reply. I wish good health to your son.

complete the course of antibiotic. it will take one week
Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX, welcome again and thanks for feedback and follow up question. I would advise you to complete the course of antibiotic as per doctor's advise. Once bacteria is eliminated from body, within a week all his reports will be fine. WBC count and platelets both will become normal because both are directly linked to presence of bacteria in blood.
