Suggest Treatment For Bacterial Vaginosis Symptoms
I would wait to treat until after your period to see what happens
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.
There are two possibilities of why you are noticing dark discharge these two times before your period.
If you are bleeding very lightly, the amount of time it takes for the blood to travel out of your uterus and mix with your discharge may make it look grayish. This is especially likely if you are on birth control pills as they can make the blood of your period look very dark, almost black.
Secondly, there is a possibilty you may have another type of vaginal infection rather than yeast. Bacterial Vaginosis is another type of vaginal discharge that is typically thin and grey. Most women experience an odor also and some discomfort, but that may not occur in a mild case.
I suggest you just wait and see if your period comes in a day or so- especially if you are on birth control pills. If the discharge only seems to occur right before your period it is most likely related to your cycle. However if you notice the discharge at other times of the month or have irritation and/or odor you should see a gynecologist for evaluation because if you have bacterial vaginosis you will require a prescription for antibiotics to treat it.
I hope I adequately answered your question and that my advice was helpful. Please do not to hesitate to contact me further if you require any additional assistance.
