Question: hi I applied mupirocin and had azithro for balanitis balanitis is cured except the meatus its still soft sensitive and has some swelling..

Balanitis is an inflammation of glans .

There are many causes for balanitis but common one are;
1.Fungal infections.
2.Irritants such as soaps,detergents etc,
3.Allergies to latex.
4.Irritation due to vaginal secretions after sexual intercourse.

In almost all cases there is redness and swelling with itching.

A steroid antifungal combination like candid b will work better rather than plane mupirocin.

I will advise you to apply this combination for 5 to 7 days along with antihistaminic like cetrizine.

Avoid using condoms and harsh soap.Wash with cold water.Use loose cotton undergarments.Avoid sexual exposure as far as possible.Try all these measures and let me know after 7 days.
