Suggest Treatment For Bilateral Flank Pain

default
Posted on Thu, 14 Jul 2016
Question: I have bilateral flank pain for the past year, my urine tests were negative. I also have a bulge in the thoracic spine, and pain going from lumbar down through buttocks, legs, ankles, feet, toes; but only pain in 1 side at a time.

I need to be away from computer for awhile and need to shut it down.

Where do I go online to get answer once I am back home?

I forgot to tell you, that when the flank pain started I did test positive for an infection. However, I still have had bilateral flank pain for the past year.

Brief Answer:
It still can be renal cause or nerve root compression.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

The bilateral flank pain that you have can be due to a urine infection, renal stones or due to mild nerve root compression at the level of thoracic spine due to bulging discs.

Since the pain is persistent it is best to get a 'Repeat urine test and culture' done with an ultrasound scan to rule out any renal pathology.

In case there is no renal cause then do get an MRI scan of the thoracic spine done and consult your orthopedician for proper treatment.

I hope this answers your query.

In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

Wishing you good health.
