Suggest Treatment For Blisters And Broken Skin On The Coxis Bone

default
Posted on Wed, 15 Apr 2015
Question: Ok. It appears I either got a blister or broken skin at the end of my coxcist bone right in the upper crack of my bum check. Being in Thailand and a tropical climate its very humid and i sweat a lot. I am training everyday and I got the sore from doing sit ups!
I didn't want to get an infection so I decided to soak it in Dettol and boiling water, cooled of course! Anyway I don't think I dikuted the solution enough and now it is even more inflamed and there seems to be blistering skin, although it's tough to see down there with my own eyes!!
Any suggestions on how to treat this please?

Brief Answer:
PILONIDAL SINUS, antibiotics, surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Studied your description of symptoms.
Seems you may have Pilonidal Sinus.
The dettol thing might just have aggravated it.
You need antibiotics, visit to a colorectal surgeon for sos surgery (please don't be alarmed, small surgery but big relief)
For now just take a painkiller pill and apply a soframycin cream and sterile guaze piece dressing.

Hi Dr Gore,

Thanks for your swift response. I somehow don't think it is that severe yet. I am no Dr of course but I think it is just a small open wound and blister bought on from friction from constant rubbing on the natal cleft from the sit-ups and inflamed (almos feels burned) from too much DETTOL. Like a chemical burn. What would be preliminary treatment that I could do now given that I am in Thailand by myself. Maybe recommend cream to cool and calm the area and what about the blister? Pop it or leave it alone? Sorry to trouble you again, but thank you for your patience.

Brief Answer:
Soframycin cream, dressing, painkiller

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Please do not even think of doing a surgery yourself (don't puncture). Let is open up on its own when it is ripe enough.
Till expert care is sought, I would suggest you take a painkiller (medicine name - DICLOFENAC. With Paracetamol. Combination) thrice a day after food.
A soframycin cream or any antiseptic cream (whatever is available there in thailand) with sterile guaze piece and a medical sticking plaster dressing. Continue dressing even after the boil ruptures till you seek expert help.
Take care.
