Belly Button Piercing, Itchy Rash Around Navel And Piercing, Diagnosed As Allergic Reaction. Could It Be Something Else?
Hello. I am a 16 year old girl, and I got my belly button pierced about a month ago. A few days ago, I formed a red, itchy rash and bumps inside and around my navel and piercing. I went to the doctor, and he said it was because I was allergic to the metal. I have since taken the ring out, and I was wondering if it could be something else. I don t think it was an allergic reaction to the metal, because my body didn t react until about a month later. Also, the rash spread to my neck and face. Any idea of what this could possibly be?
Hi, Thanks for query.
There are 2 possibilities.
1, due to allergy to metal as your doctor told as rash spreads to neck and face.
2,after piercing the belly button you might got itching due to healing, scratch marks became infected and bumps are appeared.
take antihistamine medicine like Cetrizine, apply antibiotic, antihistamine cream on the affected part.
Ok and bye.

Belly Button Piercing, Itchy Rash Around Navel And Piercing, Diagnosed As Allergic Reaction. Could It Be Something Else?
Hi, It seems like a superficial skin infection at the site of piercing. It is good that you removed the ring out. Apply topical antibiotic like Soframycin ointment to the affected area twice daily for a week. You may also apply it on the neck and face. You will be fine soon, do not worry. Take care.
