Suggest Treatment For Blockage In The Diagonal Artery
Here, bypass would be unsuitable or inoperable.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,
I have read the query and understand the concern.
Coronary bypass is mostly possible in major arteries like left anterior decending, right coronary artery, left circumflex artery etc.
Bypass surgery is not suitable for smaller arteries blockage ( less than 1 to 1.5 mm) like acute marginal artery, posterior descending or diagonal branches and also when the artery is calcified or located inside the heart musculature rather than on the surface.
Generally, cardiologist reviews patient's angiogram report earlier to surgery and decide about the site, size and type of blockage and then finally make a decision whether to go with stenting or bypass.
In your mother's case, bypass will be unsuitable or inoperable for diagonal artery blockage and also he has also considered patient's age and other medical condition.
So I would advice you to follow your cardiologists decision because of this reason as I explained.
If still any clarification needed, you can ask me anytime.
